Down The Rabbit Hole
Vava'u, Tonga
2016
Down The Rabbit Hole captures the freedom of the ocean: the wonder and the isolation we have as humans removed from the land; our oxygen taken away; our gravity taken away; ultimately, we are no longer grounded. The idea of falling down the rabbit hole, entering wonderland to experience awe, fascination, intrusion, being utterly completely lost, confused and alone as we navigate the next chapters of life.
Furthermore, the darkness and isolation of the figure represent the feeling of being lost in an abyss of nothing, transitioning between stages and entering the unknown. Down the Rabbit Hole represents the emotional state as we explore the roller coaster of life, experiencing wonder, intrusion and being utterly completely lost and alone.
