Landscape & Travel
2017
In mid 2017 I travelled across Europe and the UK over five months. This is a collection of landscape and travel images from that period of time.

Windermere is a town in the Lake District England, UK. On this particular day we hired a car, and set out for a day of landscape photography. What happened was terrential rain, being road blocked into this small town, and exploring it by foot while we waited for the roads to open. We came across this forest, with its stream full of water from the recent rains. It reminded me of Terabithia, and remains one of my favourite days in the five month trip overseas.

Driving through one of Iceland's national parks, these rocky lands were covered with such beautiful wildflowers.

Taken from the Lighthouse in a remote Latvian beach town, this house in the woods reminded me of childhood fairytales.
A view into a private driveway in Iceland. This scene showcases the beauty I found in this country - skies, terrain, mountains and colour.
A horizon of mountains, with pockets of geothermal activity, overshadow the small town below.
A little wooden house sits upon a river in Iceland. Remote living at its finest.
On the first day of exploration in Iceland, this landscape became iconic in my mind. The wondrous light (at all times of the day), the powerful mountains, the rocky and mossy terrain.
The powering mountains fading into flat paddocks. What I love about this capture is the sense of scale from mountain to structure. Can you imagine living here?
One of the many landscapes in Iceland. With amazing light, beautiful skies, and horizons of mountains, Iceland showcases vastly different landscapes with every turn.
Vik was a three hour car ride from Reykjavik, in Iceland. This church, and the rock formation behind it, are iconic views of the small fishing village. I captured this shot as the sun was setting behind it.
The horses in Iceland were beautifully natured. With curiosity, they approached me at the fence, posing perfectly for this shot.
Taken in Iceland, I had been excited to capture moments of these beautiful horses. I crossed the road excitedly and witnessed this moment. They stopped and looked at me, and the way they stood reminded me of a dramatic movie poster. I couldn't expect anything less from Iceland.
Iceland often feels like another planet. Taken on my very first day exploring this amazing country. This scene came forward showcasing the vast, untouched nature of the country - it looked like a scene out of another planet.
The ancient Kingdom of Masada in Israel. A perfectly timed bird above and the hot midday sun. This is how I remember this place. An unreal insight into ancient civilisation.
This is a close up shot of the iconic white rocks of the Seven Sisters Cliffs in England, UK. The soft morning light, wispy clouds created a scene of true beauty.
Taken on one of the most scenic train journeys in the world. Here is a view of the remote Scottish Highlands in winter.
Taken on one of the most scenic train journeys in the world. Here is a view of the remote Scottish Highlands in winter. This scene feels both distant and close up. With rich textures and gradient light - a snippet of the mountains that we travelled through.
In one of the most spectacular sights I have ever seen. This view of Glenfinnan, Scotland captures the moment the rain stopped and the light came out - right on sunset. The reflections, the houses on the edge, the trees, clouds and colour. I'm still not even sure this moment was real.
Taken in Brighton, England, UK. This still moment was captured with long exposure techniques. With the soft evening light, the gentle reflections in the water, and the mossy pier, it is almost as if time both stood still and fast forward all in one.

This incredible scene in Iceland. Bruarfoss Falls is a sight of electric blue. Of furious movement. Of incredible nature at force. This long exposure photograph captures the movement and colour of these famous waterfalls.
Spain is a beach-goers paradise. Visiting in the off-peak season meant that the wintery days provided seclusion and privacy at these pristine locations.
Taken after sunrise in Hove, UK, the water softly moved over the rocky beaches.
A colourful morning in Cyprus. The gentle waves moved across the rocks.
At sunrise in Athens, nearby the airport, a plane comes in to land.
The Seven Sisters National Park in England, UK, is a sight that feels exclusively preserved for movie scenes. A hikers dream and photographer's paradise. We visited here before dawn to capture the sunset, and ended up on a 10 kilometer hike across the clifftops. Photographed here is the very first slope.
This iceland glacier is a wonder to the eye. The rich textures, the deep history.
On a remote Latvian beach, birds fly in formation over the gentle rolling waves.
